Hello Lisbon Cais do Sodré Apartments In the middle of “Pink Street”, the most surprising street of Lisbon’s nightlife.

Hello Lisbon Cais do Sodré is located in the middle of “Pink Street”, the most surprising street of Lisbon’s nightlife. The pink pavement is the tip of the iceberg for those who arrive during the day and get their first impression of a street that buzzes with energy as night falls. The esplanades, cafés, bars, restaurants and discos come to life in a setting where creativity and good taste are the key note. It is undoubtedly the most ‘happening’ spot in Lisbon, the best kept secret of those who like to have a good time.

The apartments are located in a building that recently underwent urban rehabilitation, preserving its original architecture, but creating privileged conditions for medium and short-term stays, including total soundproofing.  What catches one’s eye is the exquisite taste and incredible amount of space in both the 1-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, thus proving an excellent choice for young couples or small groups of friends. Cleaning service every 3 nights.

Cais do Sodré Cais do Sodré (Sodré Pier) owes its name to the surname "Sodré"...

Cais do Sodré (Sodré Pier) owes its name to the surname ‘Sodré’ of a 15th century family with ties to the maritime trade of the area. At the end of the last century, Cais do Sodré was taken over by bars with names of Northern European cities in order to attract sailors coming ashore in Lisbon. After its restoration, which began a few years ago, the whole neighbourhood became one of the most surprising spots in Lisbon, much sought after by both tourists and locals.

We suggest a walk along the riverside, from Ribeira das Naus to Terreiro do Paço, a gastronomic visit to the Time Out Ribeira Market and a late afternoon relaxing in one of the many esplanades in the area.  At night discover what Rua Cor de Rosa has to offer.

Take advantage of the proximity of the intermodal Cais do Sodré station to take a train to the beach – there are several along the Estoril and Cascais coast line – or take the boat if you wish to discover and explore ‘the other margin’ (Cacilhas) and, when returning, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the city from the river.

Rua Cor de Rosa

An ‘Urban intervention project’ from architect José Adrião’s studio, it has become the centre of a new Lisbon nightlife. Among the different spots, the Velha Senhora bar is a must (a bar with a burlesque touch), along with Povo (Fado and appetizers), Sol e Pesca (the bar of canned food) and the bars/nightclubs Roterdão, Bar do Cais, MusicBox, Europa, Jamaica and Tokyo. The crowning glory is Pensão Amor, with shops, creative corners and a bar.

Ribeira das Naus

On the Riverside front between Terreiro do Paço and Cais do Sodré, this is where once upon a time many of the ships used by Portuguese navigators were built. Following its recent restoration, it is now a long public walkway lined with gardens on the banks of the Tejo river, a must for sun lovers.

Museu do Chiado

Paintings, sculptures and drawings by Portuguese artists from 1850 to the present day are on show at the Museum. It is one of the most representative places for contemporary art in Portugal. The temporary exhibitions are immensely relevant to the museum’s activities since they complement the collection.

Time Out Mercado da Ribeira

Fairs and Markets

The new Mercado da Ribeira, which was given a new lease on life by Time Out Lisboa, has around 30 eateries, and can seat up to 500 people in a covered area and more than 250 in the esplanade, located in the west wing. The best national restaurants, chefs and produce are represented here.

Massive and clean/fresh art deco apartment

It was so over our expectations for the price. We walked in and kept walking and looking around as the apartment was really huge! It has large old fashioned windows with a view over a gorgeous street that at night turns into a massive party.

Staff was very helpful providing us with a code that we could use as key so we never really had to interact unless before to get the code and the day when we were leaving as then we left our bags in the basement and had a code to come pick them up before our flight.

Just be aware that if you use the kitchen, they will charge extra for cleaning it unless you do it yourself like we did :)

Overall our stay was seamless, no trouble at all and we really enjoyed the space over a couple of glasses prosecco watching people party.

Above my expectations

A spacious (much bigger than I had expected), clean apartment. Well-located, near bus, tram and metro stops. The raliway station was 5 minutes away, which was very important for us because we often went to the beaches nearby. Some sights and the shopping area were within a walking distance as well. The street was busy at night but the bedrooms were quiet. The unit manager was very kind and helpful. It was a great value fot the price.I can only say one downside, wifi connection was slow, but it was not a big problem.(one suggestion to find the hotel easily is to look for pink street).
