Santa Apolónia Cosmopolitan atmosphere where history meets modernity.

Over the last few years Santa Apolónia has been at the forefront of the city’s urban renewal. The development of the terminal for cruise ships, and the renovation of the train station, coincided with the revival of the neighbourhood. Little by little derelict buildings were restored and converted into charismatic housing spaces within a favoured area for commercial and local community services at the heart of historic Lisbon.

We suggest you discover the neighbourhood on foot. Stroll through the National Pantheon, visit the São Vicente de Fora church, barter at Feira da Ladra and get lost in the alleys of Alfama. Afterwards walk down towards the river and you will find the trendiest restaurants, bars and shops in Lisbon with a dazzling view of the Tejo river.

Feira da Ladra (Flea Market)

Fairs and Markets

Street market where a little of everything and anything can be bought and sold: books, records, clothes, paintings and bric-a-brac. Although it is well known as a second-hand market you can also find new items there. On Tuesdays and Saturdays only and we recommend you go in the early morning.

Igreja de São Vicente de Fora

Monument

One of Lisbon’s historical buildings, it was built in honour of São Vicente, the patron saint of the city since 1173. It is worthwhile going inside and discovering the tiles with scenes from La Fontaine’s fables as well as Lisbon’s biggest organ which dates from the 18th century.

Museu do Fado

Museum

Located in the typical neighbourhood of Alfama, the museum is dedicated to the Portuguese Guitar and to Fado, considered by UNESCO in 2011 as World’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Clube Ferroviário

Bar/Disco

Recreational club with several rooms for concerts and exhibitions, bars, and an outdoor terrace overlooking the Tejo river where you may stop for a drink at sunset or dance the night away. It is worthwhile keeping an eye on the club’s programming and its decoration.

Jardim Botto Machado

Garden

Adjoining Feira da Ladra. It follows the slope so it has a fabulous view. In the garden there is a kiosk/café with terrace service and a playground.

Lux Frágil

Bar/Disco

A must of the Lisbon nightlife for its music, atmosphere and decoration. Actor John Malkovich is one of its owners. Here you will find the most respected national and international DJs and every so often electronic music concerts.

Museu do Azulejo

Museum

Located in the Convento da Madre de Deus, it occupies some of the former convent's wings. The Museum tells the story of this typically Portuguese art expression, from the 16th century to modern times.

Perfeito

Limpo, pratico, bem localizado.

Lavanderia coletiva e wi fi bom e gratuito. Recomendo e espero voltar em breve.

Excellent location and comfy hotel

We stayed there for a week and had a great time. We booked that hotel as b&b and we're satisfy. The hotel was close to tube station and lots of buses and we could go anywhere so easy. Cleaning service was very good and the room we booked was very spacious and bright.
Highly recommend

Absolutely wonderful...!!

Wow what a delightful surprise.

We just needed a place close to the train station in Lisbon for a night as we flew in late and we're catching the train to porto early in the morning. This looked like it was close to the train station and it was. We got s taxi from the airport for about ten euro.. right to the door.

The hosts had provided us with ample communication including the code to use to get in. It went very smoothly. Once we opened the door to our apartment we were thrilled. Huge... clean, modern.. just lovely. Large entry hallway, living area with lounge and tv... separate bedroom, kitchenette with all that was required. Seriously awesome bathroom with bath! Good wifi. Clean linen and bath towels.. coffee machine etc and tv...

This apartment was just luxurious... we were kicking ourselves that we hadn't booked it for longer.. we were returning to Lisbon in about five days and had booked a hotel in another area... we knew it would not be as good as this.. as spacious as clean or new.... or As modern or as comforteble. We were sad to leave this place the next mornings... the leaving process as easy as the entering.

After returning to Lisbon we know how well located this apartment was in a really funky old area full of bars and restaurants and fun, close to castle access etc.

Highly recommend this apartment.

Comfy place and very good on everything.

Very good spot with great location, not too far from downtown (only 2-3 stations away).
The flat is fully furnished with kitchen and bathroom and Mini Bar. On our arrival, a fruit platter was on the table in the lounge.
The room attendant is cleaned daily. The cleaninless is spot on. Nothing to report on it.
The place looks very well maintained and comfy.
Excellent service and experience.
Not pricey at all for that kind of property.

Great place, good location

The room was perfect. High, modern standard, well equipped kitchen, daily cleaning. You feel like in a good hotel. The strange thing is that there isn't any staff onsite. You get a check-in message with the access code on your email 3 days before arrival. Remembert to check your email. Easy access to the airport by metro.
